Cannibals and Vampires . . .
i recently had the opportunity to talk to two young men
on separate occasions in regards
to some "Bad" dreams they were having.
Both told me the exact same dream.
They dreamt they were vampires.
They related how lonely they felt,
how they missed the light of the sun
and how tired they were of stalking their human victims
and facing an eternity of killing and death.
Both were embarrassed and ashamed of the dream.

i asked if either one of them made vampires out of their victims,
both answered No, that would be cruel.
i asked if either drank the blood of animals
instead of humans for survival, again No,
they wondered in the dream if they could.

i told them i always laughed when i thought of people in Christ's time
when He said they would have to eat His flesh and drink His blood
to be a part of Him. Many people walked away
saying that teaching was a little hard to swallow(heehee)!

i reminded them of a scene in "Interview With A Vampire"
when Lestat gave Louis "The Gift",
Lestat bit and drained Louis of his blood to the point of death,
then Lestat gave Louis his blood in exchange.
The sad part of the film was Lestat was cruel
and left Louis to figure out the terrible side of the Gift,
eternity searching for answers and the loss of fellowship and Love.

i said it seemed the dream was like a metaphor
in that like Christ/we seek out people to offer
"The Gift" of Eternal Life,
but in exchange they must die
and give up their life as they know it.
The only difference is unlike Lestat, we commit our lives to friendship
and teaching on how to use the Power.
we also get the advantage of walking in the light.
Well the boy's were relieved about their dream
and haven't had it since . . .

A friend told me Jeffrey Dahlmer became a Christian
before he was killed in prison.
i Hope that's true, i guess he found a religion
with a requirement he could agree with.
